Street View Fails (1)(2)(3)

This project explores the concept of Digital Dérive within the stitched reality of Google Street View. While the platform aims for a seamless virtual world, its inherent glitches—distortions, privacy lapses, and visual fragments—reveal the "cracks" in contemporary digital culture.

The work involves a systematic extraction of geometric distortions found in these glitches, resulting in an experimental typeface ‘Ploid’ and a three-volume editorial series. By translating digital errors into a tangible visual language, the design critiques the perceived reliability of digital mapping systems and investigates how technology reshapes our viewing and reading habits.

'Hanger' typeface
Poster for Fashion Future 2060 Workshop

Fashion Future 2060 is a participatory speculative design workshop, which imagines a future where personal wardrobes are strictly regulated by a “Clothing Mass Index,” eliminating the production of non-essential textiles and maximizing the wearing rate of a minimal number of garments.

The typeface responds directly to this scenario. Each letter is suspended from a shared baseline, behaving like garments hanging from a rail. The structure suggests constraint, gravity, and limited capacity — a controlled system where excess is no longer possible.

‘Clothing Finder’ is a garment-sorting model that deconstructs a complex wardrobe into perceptible modules. Serving as a "physical index" for specific clothing categories, it helps individuals visualize their wardrobes, transforming daily organization into a systematic logic game to maximize the wear frequency of every single item.

This identity serves as a reflexive audit of generative technologies. Instead of treating the "image" as a spontaneous object, we expose and deconstruct the obscure processing of its retrieval, loading, and computation.

Through the fluid structure of semantics, noise, and coordinates, the visual identity is in a state of self-generation—framing technological cognition as the ultimate output. What remains is an image fluctuating between ambiguity and sharpness, systemic glitch and precision.

2025 Graduation Exhibition

The visual identity for the 2025 Graduation Exhibition centers on the concept of design as a process of "initiating connections" rather than defining boundaries. The key visual is systematically derived from the floor plan of the School of Design’s building, translating physical space into a dynamic graphic language.

From this architectural base, five geometric forms were generated to represent the school's four undergraduate disciplines. Through slicing, rotation, and reconfiguration, these forms compose an open visual system that symbolizes cross-disciplinary convergence and transformation.

Changwon Sculpture Atlas

Official website: https://changwon.dotway.cn/

Changwon Sculpture Atlas is a digital research and cultural mapping project for the 2026 Changwon Sculpture Biennale. It visualizes the city’s cultural ecology by archiving the intersections of data, images, and maps since 2010.

The project functions as an infrastructural backbone, remapping public sculptures and exhibition trajectories to trace the mutual evolution of the city and the Biennale. By identifying key histories and spatial textures, the Atlas provides a contextual framework for artists to engage with the urban landscape and offers audiences a new perceptual window into Changwon as a living cultural organism.

Pin Stencil
A Lettering Guide from Safety Pins

Developed during a five-day intensive workshop, this project explores the structural logic of a common object: the safety pin. By analyzing the physical form and mechanical deformation of the pin, the work translates the tension and flexibility of steel wire into a modular lettering system.

The outcome is a laser-cut stencil guide (shablone) that allows for infinite extension and flexible bending of letterforms. Using this guide, a display typeface was created, specifically designed for headlines where characters can be interconnected. This project bridges the gap between tactile craftsmanship and systematic type design, turning a mundane tool into a versatile graphic instrument.

GOKLOK

"GOKLOK" is an experimental local lifestyle brand with three sub-brands: "Gasanhulu," "Haobaixiang," and "Ditantou." We hope to connect with various stakeholders, starting from gray spaces such as under bridges, encouraging community cultural promotion, residents' hobby activities, and convenient service stalls. We inspire everyone to share idle spaces, leading to a sustainable life from the environment to society and even business.

"Cengxinxian" is a limited-time activity by GOKLOK, aiming to collaborate with nearby stores to sell near-expiry products in the form of lucky bags, promoting sustainable concepts.
